Are you open on mother's day, Sunday, May 13th and do we need a reservation for lunch for 3 people??
Awesome food they have here.
Akebono is one of the better Japanese places in town. The sushi is fresh and delicious and the dinner items are very good as well. They also have good ramen. Highly recommend.
MoreAkebono never ceases to satisfy. Hubby and I love sharing a bento box lunch, which is always plenty for both of us. The service is also always prompt and friendly.
MoreMy personal favorite place for sushi in Sacramento. Everything was delicious. I can recommend the Unagui Udon if you like Unagui (smoked eel), this is a pretty big serving so keep that in mind if you plan to order something else. BUT. If you are like me, you could also eat a sushi roll, and an appetizer while waiting, go for the gyoza. I will try the Love Boat experience next time. Looking forward to update my review. Meanwhile,,, enjoy!
Moreit was fantastic and delcious. I couldn,t eat all of it so I had to take it home.
MoreThis place was nice. Hospitality was over the top with friendly service. The sushi was fresh, delicious and very reasonably priced. Clean with authentic atmosphere. Pleasantly surprised to find this place right down the street.
MoreEverytime I come here I leave satisfied and happy. This time it was the Tan Tan Men raman... so yummy!
MoreWe came to Akebono at the suggestion of friends who live in the area. Good choice, we had the combination meals, sushi roll and ramen. The food was very good, the service was fast and excellent..
MoreNice place in a rundown shopping center. Almost did not try. Once in it had good crowd. We sat at sushi bar. Chefs were preoccupied with life and it was impossible for them to smile or have personality with us. This was not the way sushi bars are usually run. Food was amazing fresh and perfectly prepared and served. Serving size is generous. Menu and sake beer selection is great. Wait people service also bit and miss with them frequently going back into kitchen for a long time and never giving us her name. I rate 5 star for food only and 3 star for restaurant management and o star for the dreary parking lot storefront.
MoreVery good! Fast and courteous service. Our order came out fast. The food was fresh and tasty. All dishes ordered were fresh, hot, and are generous. The sashimi was fresh, firm, and generous.
MoreGreat sushi and service!
good atmosphere, friendly service and staff, yummy sushi and good Japanese food
Great food and service~
Alright prices and alright sushi. We got sushi boat B. From the rolls it seems not bad but I would have to try more nigiri to know if its better than alright. I dont think i would go back to Akebono because its so mediocre.
MoreVery good food....
Worst sushi place I've been around sac - way too over priced and their sauces were exceptionally terrible. A basic place like Sushi Hook is 10 times better than this dump
MoreIf you are a sushi lover, this is the place to go to! Can't go wrong with the dream come true roll.
MoreI like this spot! They have sensational food, they have a nice menu, The chef in that place is a specialist, I like very much tasting all their food. The dishes are always fresh, the service towards the clients is friendly. I often eat in this place and I was never unhappy. Highly recommended.
MoreReally good ramen. I had the miso ramen... very tasty. Service was fast and friendly.
MoreLoved the sushi boat and ramen noodles. They had the right amount of spices and quality of ingredients. We went on a Friday night and the restaurant was full. This says a lot about the quality of food and service this place offers.
MoreHad a company Christmas party here yesterday. Noodles excellent. Sushi good. Pot sticker good. Chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, tempura and katsu meh. Service ok. They have a banquette area in the back for big parties. I'm willing to give this place another shot and try their soup.
MorePretty bomb broth and sushi selection. Good deals on sake bombs. Fun atmosphere and seats for all groups but the wait is killer like all ramen places
MoreGreat place to go with friends or family. It's clean, has great service, and the food is great. I like the sushi and ramen there.
MoreA nice place to dine with good Japanese food. Especially their house fried rice. Also loved that they can accommodate large party.
MoreI've eaten ramen all over the greater Sacramento area and this is easily the best.
MoreAuthentic sushi. Great staff and service.
So fresh and such great value. They do an amazing job of managing large crowds and serving so many tables. Only been once and waited maybe 15 minutes and so worth it.
MoreWhen I first entered, I was greeted almost immediately. I asked if I could order takeout and the hostess or greeter (however you want to call it) politely gave me the menu and informed me to head to the back as soon as I was ready. I took about 10 minutes since I wasn't sure what to order honestly and they were fine with that. As I was ordering the cashier was patient and gave my annoying nephews lollipops since they were being impatient 😒😆 which was a plus for customer service. The wait was about 15 minutes which was fine considering I ordered a fair amount of rolls. As I was leaving, every if not almost every employee greeted me on the way out and thanked me as well which is indeed 5/5 stars for sure. And the food was bomb!!! I will come back for sashimi for sure!!!
MoreDon't let the outside of the restaurant scare you off. The food, the service, and interior are good reasons to step inside. We enjoyed the lunch combination of tempura and sushi. The meal was served with miso soup, rice, and salad. Plenty to eat. They even included slivers of ginger and wasabi.
MoreYou already know that this place has the best sushi. However, they have the best grilled salmon as well! This place can be busy, but it's worth the wait.
MoreBest sushi I have had. The diner package when they serve the rolls on the boat. So Cool!
MoreMany choices of great, fresh food; I would recommend anyone to visit this restaurant.
MoreNice neighborhood Japanese restaurant. Friendly place to enjoy some sushi, ramon and drink
MoreI have been coming here since I could remember. Growing up in my Japanese family this was one of the few places we would go to for genuine Japanese food and not Americanized food. I love it. Never disappoints.
MoreExcellent casual Japanese restaurant
I like sushi, I like this place. Some people say it's different after switching management, but I've noticed no decrease in quality or taste. I'll visit whenever I can because I've come to this restaurant for years.
MoreConsistently delicious. Don't order the kama; it's terrible. 😉
Always my favorite sushi place. Favorites: ichiro roll and pepperfin tuna. Rice is always great, fish is fresh. Just went with some friends and got the sushi boat B. Every roll but 1 was great!
MoreFood was not hot, it was warm and the menus are giant. The food did come pretty fast (given that it was merely warm I'm assuming it was pre-heated).Be prepared to spend 10 minutes looking through a confusing menu.
MoreAbsolutely amazing sushi and ramen. Have been going there for a few months now and it's been consistently delicious.Must try their shoyu ramen and their chirashi.
MoreGreat food and service so glad my friend suggested us to have lunch here will totally be comming back
MoreTheir menu is huge so be prepared to spend 20 minutes looking through it but the food was decent, like any other Japanese place. The portion size was nice though
MoreCertainly a place worth stopping by, the food is fantastic and well prepared, the pricing is reasonable and it is consistently clean here. Fantastic work.
MoreFirst visit, very impressed. Showed up about 8pm on a Saturday, and waited less than 5 mins for a table for two. Super fresh and ornate sushi rolls. This is a more casual atmosphere than Kru, and not as boisterous, buzzing, see-and-be-seen as Mikuni. Especially if you're looking for something off the grid/Midtown, it's ideal for a date or casual dinner with your SO. There are TVs that, at the time, were tuned to college basketball, but they were silent. For two: We ordered a seaweed salad, hot tea, and 3 massive sushi rolls (the Baked Alaska special, Angel roll, and Red Dragon (I think it's called)). With tip, it came out to $59. We didn't get alcohol, but that could easily turn this into an $80-$90 meal. They have space to seat big groups, or you could sit at the sushi bar. Easy free parking. There's a large back room with a bar that appears to be equipped as a party/banquet room, but it looked like Akebono was seating people back there. We will be back!
MoreEntered near ten, it was not crowded. The staff was very helpful and observant. The place has an awesome feel to it.
MoreI love Akebono. The food and service is always excellent. Try the yakisoba. 🤤
I take my family to this place quite a bit! This is my favorite spot to have a bite. I visit this spot many times. The cooking is just great, the staff members are professional and the cost is good. I like meeting in this restaurant over a nice dinner.
MoreExcellent Japanese cuisine, including a wide array of sushi. Service was excellent. The only downside is it can get very crowded at peak times.
MoreSeriously... really good. I had never tried this place before and after seeing some good reviews decided to give it a shot. Was not disappointed! Great Rolls. The BBQ Tuna was a huge portion and better than anything I've had at Mikunis or a big box sushi spot. Another thing that really stood out was it wasn't drowning in sauce. It was a healthy amount, but wasn't drowning in it or soggy. Will definitely be going back!
MoreSolid neighborhood meals. Squid legs are sexy
